Being born again is not just been a Christian and a church goer. It goes beyond that . It’s about having a deep and life-changing encounter with God. That’s why 2 Cor 5:17 (simplified Version) says ” When someone becomes a Christian he becomes a brand new person inside. He is not the same any more. A new life has begun!
Automatically, a man is a new creation/ creature when this happens. He begins to live a zoe kind of life. That’s called a God-life, a Divine nature. A life that is totally dependent on God through: prayers, studying God’s word, meditation and obedience to God’s word. John 15 :5 has made it clear about God been the vine and we the branches and therefore must produce fruits. Hallelujah!!
This verse emphasizes a strong cord or relationship between man and God. We can easily connect our relationship with God to a tree and it’s branches. What an intertwined relationship, “Jesus in me and I in Him. What a perfect love!
However, John 15:6 explains further the negative effects of seperation , it says the branch is rendered useless and withers and is burnt. This occurs when sin comes in and you discover the zeal to pray, study and meditate on God’s word as well as obeying his commandments becomes a struggle and strange.
Beware, when that happens, there is however a discord and what is required of you is to reconnect with Him. Lay it all down at His feet, ask for mercy with a repentant heart. He is there to uphold you and waiting to receive you back into His fold.
Now, here comes the big question, are you not tired going back and forth with him? Do you prefer to sin and then come back to him because he is compassionate and his mercy endureth forever? Romans 6:1-2. NO! Don’t keep sinning!! This is because Romans 6:6 has made us to understand that our old, sinful lives were nailed to the cross and that part of us that loves to sin has been crushed and fattaly wounded. Therefore, we no longer need to be a slave to sin.
Finally, Roman 6:8 went further telling us that when this experience happens, we share His new life. What a beautiful life! Roman 6:10 now made us know that His(Jesus) death ended sin’s power in our lives and now we live forever in an unbroken fellowship with God .
I pray that this day you receive a new life in Him and He reign in all your affairs from today in Jesus name. You begin to establish a strong relationship with your maker today and His name be continually glorified In Jesus mighty name. Amen.
