Husbands,love your wife and treat as a worker vessels,love her as Christ loved the church….
Wives summit to your husbands and love him and be committed to him as the Church is to Christ.
As much as the Bible verse has given husband and wife a responsibility, it is expedient that each partner identifies his role as to the expectations of Christ Jesus.
Remember, the Bible also said,” and the a man shall leave his father and mother and cling to his wife,and the two shall become one”. One flesh, one body, one mind, one spirit, one soul, in Christ Jesus.
So, it’s really difficult when a christain ends up with a non-christian or non-believer ,they are not one, that’s because one’s understanding and belief is different from the other . So, conflict begins. Then,they are two not one.
Another case is when husband sees himself as superior over the wife and even says and acts it. That attitude has not demonstrated Jesus’s when he chose to love the church even when we all know that he is more superior. Or the wife sees herself as the more superior because she is more spiritually sound. No.
The two in one body and one mind of Christ Jesus are expected to see themselves as equal even though in our hearts,we know our husbands are to be summited to and our wives are to be loved, cherished and treated as we treat ourselves.
When we treat ourselves as equals,we feel what the other feels. That’s what makes you one body. We think the way the other thinks, that’s one mind. We do things as we are doing for or to ourselves,one spirit.
Above all,we love as we love ourselves ,not more than or less than we should.
In doing so, we are checkmating with ourselves how we should feel or react when situations turns table and also keep ourselves at check of not hindering the other person’s prayers or even ours.
So, my brethren, seeing yourself as equal doesn’t make you less as a husband or wife, that didn’t make Jesus less even until now. He is always rated above every other name. Husbands however, it’s your duty to bridge the gap, wives,it’s your duty to fit in and play your role so the two can become one.
Can the two ever be one except they agree on one thing? No.
Agree with each other,pray with each other, understand each other,love and bless each other, pray with and for each other and experience the true oneness of marriage Christ our LORD as proposed for us here on earth.
